American History X commentary

Some people have an opinion and never change their mind, others rethink and realize what they really are. Derek's life is an example of someone who achieved a realization that completely changes the course of his life, and a simple word explains it all: coexistence. All around yourself influence, and this is a factor that creates part of your personality. Although the word "prison" sounds horrifying and scary to many people, including me, that was what made Derek, a skinhead, realize what he had in front of him and who he should be. All that bacause there he lived with different people and races, including one that had aversion the most, a black person. see here to know about coexistence and tolerance.

Derek was a skinhead full of hatred and anger at those who are different from himself, whether black, immigrant, everyone and everything other than Americans or whites. He was the oldest man in his house and influenced everyone nest him, especially his brother Danny. Darek did things really badly and over time the racism only increased. see here more about racism.
see here to know Martin Luther King quotes, the leader of movements seeking respect for the rights of blacks and the end of racial discrimination in USA.
The most vilence thing that Derek could did was kill a black man. This man was trying to steal his car, and because of that, Derek was arrested to the prison and he started to work at the jail with a black man. Over time, he realized that living with them wasn't bad at all. When Derek look at himself, he concluded that he wasn't enjoying being with the "white guys" and that made him change all his perspective of hatred to respect and trust in those people. People from diferent kinds of lives, races, and places. see here to know about Edward Furlong

Concluing, Derek could show that we can not judge pople we don't know, because each one has his own personality. I think the right sentence to express Derek's conclusion its " Do not judge by appearances", it doesn't help at all. see here to more details about the movie.
